12" Goat Skin

It is the nature of any stretched and tensioned animal hide drumhead that eventually it will need replacing. With the professionally cured and treated, high quality goat skin rounds, you don't need to discard your hand drum when that day comes! These skins are of the male goat variety, slightly thicker and more porous than female skins. With proper stretching and tensioning, they produce a rich, low, resonant tone with a minimum of over-ring. Remember, it is important to allow a few extra inches of diameter when reheading any drum. This will allow plenty of trimming room in the event of error or mis-positioning.
